Kids in Costa Rica
In Costa Rica, rural families have not always benefitted from the influx of tourism that has prospered in other areas. An example of this is San Luis Abajo, a small, poor traditional village near Monteverde. Although Monteverde is a bustling tourist magnet, the children in nearby towns do not have adequate teaching staff, books, pencils, and paper among other things. The Kids Co-op and its board members donate directly to the organizations that help needy children in places like San Luis Abajo. In the past, our organization has provided funds for food, school supplies, and tuition assistance to these children in poverty.
